Honor View 20 vs One Plus 6T- Which one is better?

OnePlus 6T was launched in the 2nd half of 2018, and it became one of the flagship giants that created a tremor in the Indian market. Being loaded with a remodelled design, powerful specifications, stellar performance, and a jaw-dropping price, it emerged as the attention-stealer for every user.

Now, another smartphone giant, Huawei, is coming with Honor View 20, the first flagship of the year that is set to be unveiled globally on January 22 with an advanced design, a superb camera, and high-end functionals

Design

The OnePlus 6T flaunts a waterdrop notch facilitated with an edge-to-edge display alongside holding a thin bottom bezel. The rear part of the phone is provided with a clean, premium curved glass panel supported with dual cameras.

On the other hand, the Honor View 20 sports a stylish look. It flaunts an O-shaped cutout for the selfie snapper, a narrow chin and a mirrored chevron design on the back.

Design wise, Honor View 20 appears as the winner.

Screen-size

The OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display having an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. On the contrary, the Honor View 20 is featured with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ (1080×2310 pixels) display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is worthy of mention that the Honor phone has a 4.5mm screen cutout for the selfie-shooter that requires the users to get acquainted with the design.

In this segment, OnePlus 6T is the real winner.

Camera Delight

OnePlus 6T is enabled with a dual camera set up in the rear front. There are two cameras namely a 16MP (f/1.7) main sensor, coupled with a 20MP (f/1.7) secondary sensor and LED flash.
The Honor View offers a dual rear-camera setup consisting of a 48MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX586 sensor, clubbed with a 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor for capturing the intensity of the depths.

From the optical point of view, Honor View 20 is the distant winner.

Selfie Quality

While the OnePlus 6T houses a 16MP (f/2.0) sensor, its sole competitor comes with a 25MP (f/2.0) sensor placed in the 4.5 mm screen cutout on the top-left corner. Both the cameras offer Face Unlock feature.

Honor View 20 is a clear winner since it offers more megapixels for clicking selfies.

Processor, RAM, and Memory

OnePlus 6T is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes in either 6GB or 8GB variants paired with 128GB or 256GB of non-expandable storage respectively.

To counter the Oneplus flagship, the Honor View 20 is boosted by the presence of all-new 7nm HiSilicon 980 chipset, clubbed with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of non-expandable internal storage.

Honor View 20 edges past OnePlus 6T with a more robust chipset.

OS

Regarding the standard features, both the phones are packed with all the essential ones. OnePlus 6T sports an optical in-display fingerprint sensor but Honor View 20 brandishes a retro physical scanner with all the facilities mounted on the back panel.

Both the phones operate on their sole modified versions of Android Pie. According to market reviews, OnePlus’ OxygenOS is touted for streamlined accessibility and get updates in real-time.

One Plus 6T slightly fares better than Honor in this segment.

Connectivity and Battery

Both the phones support dual-SIM cards (Nano) and are boosted with multiple connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802a/c (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.

But a significant turn-off for OnePlus 6T is that it is not packed with a headphone jack, but the View 20 comes with the same. Furthermore, the Honor flagship is packed with a larger and more powerful battery of the capacity of 4,000mAh battery while OnePlus 6T gets its power from 3,700mAh battery.

Honor View 20 performs better in this segment.

Estimated Price

In India, the OnePlus 6T is available at a price of Rs. 37,000 for the 6GB/128GB storage option whereas the Honor View 20, is all set to launch in India on January 29, at an approximate price of Rs. 30,400 for the 6GB/128GB variant.

Final Verdict

It is imperative to infer that Oneplus 6T is one of the flagship legends of modern times owing to its specifications and longevity, but it lacked performance guttiness on being compared with the Honor View 20 on some parameters.

Honor View 20 performs exceptionally well with improved cameras, better processors, and a bigger battery. Hence this flagship from Huawei would be a smarter choice for the customers.
