Apple may introduce iPhone 15 & 15 Plus with 48MP camera like Pro models


As we inch closer to the end of this year, the date for the biggest tech event of 2023 also gets closer. The Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to launch the iPhone of 2023, the iPhone 15 series, which is set to come out traditionally in September.

Apple will be launching iPhones in different price segments in the iPhone 15 line-up itself, and as per reports, the lower-end Apple phones, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a 48-megapixel rear camera lens.

As per speculations by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus smartphones will come packed with a 48 MP camera that will use a three-stacked sensor that can capture more light for enhanced image quality.

A report in MacRumours further suggests that the stacked sensor on the lower-end models in the upcoming iPhone 15 series may face yielding issues and cause a potential production delay for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.

It’s important to note that last year, Apple introduced a 48 MP camera sensor on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max which allows Apple users to capture 48 MP ProRAW photos with the lens. The lens is able to retains more detail in the image file for greater editing flexibility on the iPhone.

Meanwhile fans are excited for the iPhone 15 series set to arrive later this year, all eyes are also on Apple to release its foldable device as it’s now the only brand that hasn’t released a folding smartphone. Just a few days ago, Google entered the foldable smartphone market by releasing its first ever foldable phone, the Pixel Fold. Up until now, the foldable market was solely dominated by South Korean smartphone-maker, Samsung, which is also the rival of Apple.
