There are a lot of people, including people in India, who are transforming their current picture using age filter to see how they’re going to look like after they are old. And these people are also sharing these photos on social media.

The drawback, however, is that just with the other app that uses personal information like a photo, there are privacy concerns around FaceApp.

Several people have raised concerns, including us legislator who wants the app investigated by FBI for possible data misuse.

1) FaceApp is an app that permits users to put age filter on any photo and show you the way that person will look when he or she is old. It has gone viral, and people are posting their young and old photos on social media.

FaceApp has clarified that it’s not a privacy risk. In a powerful statement, it’s said, “FaceApp performs most of the photo processing in the cloud.

We tend only to upload a photograph selected by a user for editing. We tend to never transfer any other images from the phone to the cloud. Most pictures are deleted from our servers within 48 hours from the upload date.

FaceApp says that its R&D team is in Russia, but it doesn’t store user data in Russia.

US legislator Chuck Schumer has said that FBI should investigate if FaceApp has stored data of us users in Russia.

Another privacy risk is that the user’s photos are often used by apps like FaceApp to show its smart algorithms on how people’s faces change with age.
