Xiaomi launches budget-friendly phones Redmi A2, A2+ in India, check specs & price

Xiaomi on Friday released two new entry-level Redmi smartphones – Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+. Both the smartphones come with basic specifications that you would find in any budget-friendly smartphone in the market.

The Redmi A2 has been launched with multiple RAM and storage options including 2GB and 4GB along with storage options of 32GB and 64GB. The Redmi A2 starts at Rs 5,999, with the 4GB+64GB variant priced at Rs 7,499.

The smartphone-maker is also giving away instant discounts on select bank cards. For instance, customers who own ICICI Bank Cards can enjoy an instant discount of Rs 500 on the Redmi A2.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has launched Redmi A2+ in a single storage configuration. The phone will come in 4GB RAM + 64GB of storage option. The Redmi A2+ has been priced at Rs 8,499.

The smartphone-maker is also offering two years of warranty on both the phones – Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, which will go on sale from May 23 through Amazon and other e-retail stores.

Both the smartphones have been launched in three colours – Sea Green, Aqua Blue and Classic Black.

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, which flaunt a 6.5-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution displays, are also scratch-resistant and splash resistant. The new entry-level smartphones support dual SIM and also feature a dedicated slot for microSD card.

Both the phones feature 8MP of main camera with QVGA lens and a 5MP sensor at the front for selfies and video calls.

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ comes packed with a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. The phones will be powered by Android 13. Talking about the structure and design of both Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+, both the budget-friendly phones feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port for charging.
