Premium smartphone manufacturer Apple started its highly-anticipated 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on Monday (June 5) with a bang.

Starting with CEO Tim Cook’s keynote speech and introducing a series of upgrades to its devices and software, this year’s WWDC was a treat for the eyes.

Here’s everything that was introduced on the first day of the company’s annual developers’ conference.

Apple Vision Pro
Apple finally impressed its fans with Vision Pro, the iPhone-maker’s first augmented-reality (AR) headset. The new generation headset, which competes with Sony’s PlayStation VR and Meta’s newly-launched Quest line, stole the show at the event.

With the ‘ski goggles’ design, the headset offers virtual and augmented reality features. Vision Pro run on VisionOS and sports 12 cameras and a digital crown (just like in Apple Watch) to choose between the AR and VR environments.

Starting at $3,499 (approximately Rs 2.89 lakh), the headset will be available for purchase next year. It is believed to be three times Meta’s priciest device.Powered by Apple’s in-house M2 chip, the headset also comes with a custom-made chip called R1, which Apple said is designed to process information from its sensors in less time than the blink of an eye. This marks Apple’s first new product category launch in nine years when Apple Watch was unveiled.
