Disruptions in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha took place on Tuesday over Congress leader Ajay Rai’s derogatory remarks against Union minister Smriti Irani. The Congress leader made a remark against the Union minister in a pejorative manner.
Likewise, opposition leaders placed several notices to discuss the December 9 clash between the Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) among other issues. On Monday, opposition leaders staged a walk out from Rajya Sabha as their notices to discuss the matter were disallowed.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar criticised Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks and said it demoralises India’s jawans. “Our soldiers are standing at a height of 13,000 feet in Yangtse and guarding our border. They should be respected and appreciated,” he said on Monday.
The Repealing and Amending Bill was introduced on Monday in Lok Sabha and also passed the Anti-Maritime Piracy Bill.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced the Appropriation Bills in Rajya Sabha that authorise payment and appropriation of certain further sums from and out of Consolidated Fund of India for the services of the upcoming financial year (2022-23).
The winter session – that began on December 7 – will continue till December 29, with a total of 17 working days. Sixteen new bills are on the Centre’s agenda in this session.
