Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has referred a privilege notice against AAP MP Sanjay Singh to the privilege committee of the upper house for further investigation.

In December last year, BJP‘s Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao had given a privilege notice against Singh for making misleading statement that the ED has raided 3,000 times on opposition leaders but only 23 could be convicted and casting aspersions on the leader of house Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal by tweeting against him.

As per the Rajya Sabha bulletin, the Chairman has moved the notice of alleged breach of privilege against Singh for “allegedly making wilful misleading statement in the house and casting aspersion on the Leader of House, Rajya Sabha …to the Committee of Privileges for examination, investigation and report.”

The Rajya Sabha Secretariat also takes note of Singh’s response to the notice given by the BJP MP, according to the bulletin.
