The Mahabubabad Police detained YSRTP President Y S Sharmila on February 19 for reportedly uttering offensive remarks about Shanker Naik, an MLA from the ruling BRS party. After the protests organised by BRS party leaders and activists, state police shifted Sharmila to Hyderabad. She also attacked the Telangana CM KCR by calling him a tyrant.
