Samsung Galaxy 2023: Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 Event: Where to watch live, what to expect

South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is all set to unveil its flagship devices at the 2023 Galaxy Unpacked event. The highly-anticipated Samsung Unpacked 2023 event see the launch of the Galaxy S23 line-up on February 1 (Wednesday) at 11:30 pm.

According to several media reports, the tech company will launch Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Ecommerce platform Flipkart is expected to be an exclusive online partner.

Samsung hinted at a camera update with three lenses placed one after the another, vertically. The tech conglomerate also teased the new colour variant of the Galaxy S23 series – pastel yellow, powder blue, pristine white and wine.

Earlier, a report claimed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 used in the Galaxy S23 series will be called ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy’, as per the documentation seen by GSM Arena.

However, it isn’t known if the ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy’ branding will be limited to the devices launched at the Unpacked event or used across its device categories.

The new devices will have a clock speed of up to 3.36 GHz instead of 3.2 GHz (prime core) which is on the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (SM8550-AB). The other features of the customised chipset are expected to remain largely the same as the regular version. The GSM Arena report said that the 4nm modified chip is also said to be manufactured by Samsung’s foundry instead of TSMC.

Samsung is also expected to announce its Galaxy Book 3 series – Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Galaxy Book 3 360, Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra at the event.
The premium smartphone maker’s laptop family will consist of five models this year, according to the latest leak.

The Book3 Pro will come in two models – 14-inch and 16-inch with either Core i5-1340P or Core i7-1360P processors paired with 16GB RAM and 1TB of NVMe SSD. The GSM Arena report said that it will rely on the integrated Iris Xe graphics. The 14-inch option will have a 63Wh battery, while the 16-inch supposedly has the same 76Wh cell as the Ultra.

The Book3 Ultra may feature a 16-inch 2880 x 1800p AMOLED screen display along with 13th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU, up to 32GB of RAM, 1TB of PCIe NVMe Gen4 storage and beefy Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU.

A 76Wh battery powers all of this hardware, and the laptop comes with a 136W charger. The sleek 16-inch laptop may also come with an S Pen holster.

Where to watch it?
After the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020, Samsung is back for the first time with an in-person Galaxy Unpacked event.
