Flour prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi shot up for the third time in the span of two days.

By India Today Web Desk: The flour crisis in Pakistan’s Lahore is reported to have worsened as the stock of subsidised flour in the market dwindled. The reason behind the crisis is attributed to the mismanagement between the food department and flour mills.

The 15kg flour bag is being sold for Rs 2,050 now, after the increase of Rs 150. So far, the price of a 15kg flour bag has seen a rise of Rs 300 in just two weeks. Whereas, in the open market, the prices remain unchanged, reported ARY News.

Flour prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi shot up for the third time in the span of two days, according to a report.

Soaring of the flour prices is one of the crises that Pakistan faces as it reels under the heft of a crumbling economy. The government has also failed to provide its people with basic amenities, which has compelled the citizens to use plastic bags to fulfil their LPG (cooking gas) needs.

Appalling as it may sound, Pakistanis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are using plastic bags to store LPG as a dip in the stock of cooking gas cylinders has forced the vendors to cut short the supply.

Carrying gas in a plastic bag makes the blast risk more palpable as it is believed to be no less than a moving bomb. According to a report, at least eight patients were admitted to a burn care centre of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences after getting injured due to these plastic bags.
