Do you find it weird that your iPhone’s battery life has been dying quicker since the latest iOS version 16.4 came out? The culprit could be the latest operating software by Apple.
According to a YouTube channel iAppleBytes, some iPhone devices have been affected by the latest iOS update that came out on March 27.
The YouTube channel using Geekbench tested the battery life in iPhones that got the latest iOS update and found that the battery life in a few Apple phones dropped significantly.
If you haven’t yet updated your iPhone device, then you better hold on to the iOS upgrade as a report in imore.com suggests that Apple smartphones under the iPhone 13, 12, 11 and XR line-up seem to be affected. The report revealed that the battery life of iPhone 13 dropped by 11 per cent, whereas the battery life of iPhone 12 dropped by 12 per cent.

iOS 17
While Apple is yet to roll out the iOS 16.4 update, the Internet has been buzzing with news surrounding iOS 17. As per reports, the Cupertino-based tech company is gearing up to launch the new update very soon.
Expected Time Of Arrival
Apple will most likely make the announcement at Apple’s this year’s annual developers conference, WWDC, which will likely be held in June.
First Comes The Beta
Once Apple has made the announcement at the tech conference event, it will quickly roll out the beta version of the software for developers for testing. In a month or two after rolling out the beta version, Apple will then roll out iOS 17 for the general public.
iPhones That Will Receive The Update
Apple will most likely launch its upcoming software update, the iOS 17, along with its iPhone 15 series set to launch in September. Every iPhone usually gets 5 years of software updates, so iPhones released since 2018 such as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13 series and iPhone 14 series will get iOS 17 update on their phones.
Now that comes a huge problem for Apple as the iOS 16 countered the battery draining issue in iPhones. Apple smartphones have been fighting against the battery life for a while now. With every major iOS upgrade, many users reported facing a drop in the battery life of their iPhones. So when iOS 16 fixed that issue, it didn’t only bring relief, but also increased the longevity of older iPhone variants.

As many iPhone users complain about losing the juice running their device short, we hope Apple will fix this problem with their next iOS 16 update or with the iOS 17. The Cupertino-based tech giant is currently working on iOS 16.5 update which should be the last upgrade for the iOS 16.
