By Divyanshi Sharma: Tesla and Twitter owner Elon Musk is often the talk of the town due to his change in policies at Twitter, controversial tweets, statements, and so on. But rarely has the business magnate’s college days been the topic of conversation. A video of Musk, that shows him opening up about his personal life, has surfaced online. In the video, Musk can be seen describing how once, while on a date, the first question that he asked the woman was, “Do you ever think about electric cars?”

Elon Musk’s Twitter video goes viral

Over 8,25,000 people have reacted to the video in which Musk can be seen talking about his college days in an interview.

“A little anecdote. We went on a date and all I was talking about was electric cars. That was not a winning conversation,” says Musk at the beginning of the video.

The interviewer then interrupts him and says, “So it was a bit of a monologue, was it?”

He responds, “Yeah she said the first question that I asked her was ‘Do you ever think about electric cars?’.” The people present in the room then start laughing as Musk completes his answer by saying, “that wasn’t great but recently it has been more effective.”

About Elon Musk’s Tesla

Musk’s last statement in the video is most likely a reference to his company, Tesla. The electric car brand was founded as Tesla Motors in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. In 2004, Musk became the largest shareholder of the company by investing a gigantic amount of USD 6.5 million. He then assumed his role as the CEO and product architect of the company in 2008.

Even though Tesla dominates the electric car market, it had its share of challenges in 2022 when its stocks began taking a hit. Responding to the same, Musk had reportedly told Tesla employees in an email that they should ‘not be bothered by stock market craziness’.

In November 2022, Musk had sold 19.5 million Tesla shares worth about USD 4 billion. “Billionaire entrepreneur and Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk sells 19.5 million Tesla shares, a SEC filing shows,” a tweet by Reuters read at the time. Musk had previously sold shares worth a combined value of USD 15.4 billion in April and August the same year. At the time, he had said that there were no ‘further sales planned’.
