In view of the sudden surge in Covid cases in many countries, the Indian medical association, Goa State branch has alerted public to follow Covid appropriate behaviour.
The association has appealed for wearing of face masks in all crowded public places, social distancing and regular hand washing with soap or use of sanitisers.It has also advised people to consult the doctor in case of any symptoms like fever, sore throad, cough, loose motions etc and get the Covid vaccination including precautionary dose at the earliest.

Rajasthan issues directions to start srceening, genome sampling amid fresh Covid scare
The Rajasthan Health department on Thursday directed Chief Medical and Health Officers of all districts to start screening, genome sampling and identifying high-risk groups amid a spurt in Covid cases in some parts of the world.
Guidelines for International Arrivals(in supersession of guidelines issued on the subject on 21st November 2022)
Following protocol post arrival shall also be followed:
- A sub-section (2% of the total passengers* in the flight) shall undergo random post arrival testing at the airport on arrival.
- Such travellers in each flight shall be identified by the concerned airlines (preferably from different countries). They will submit the samples and shall be allowed to leave the airport thereafter.
- If such travellers’ samples are tested positive, their samples should be further sent for genomic testing at INSACOG laboratory network.
- They shall be treated/isolated as per laid down standard protocol.
- All travellers should self-monitor their health post arrival also shall report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075)/ State Helpline Number in case they have any symptoms suggestive.

- De-boarding should be done ensuring physical distancing.
- Thermal screening should be done in respect of all the passengers by the health officials present at the point of entry.
- The passengers found to be symptomatic during screening shall be immediately isolated, taken to a designated medical facility as per health protocol
Guidelines for International Arrivals
- In-flight announcement about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic including precautionary measures to befollowed (preferable use of masks and following physical distancing) shall be made in flights/travel and at allpoints of entry.
- Any passenger having symptoms of COVID-19 during travel shall be isolated as per standard protocoli.e. the said passenger should be wearing mask, isolated and segregated from other passengers in flight/traveland shifted to an isolation facility subsequently for follow up treatment.

The Karnataka government on Thursday decided to conduct mandatory testing of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) in the state amid a spurt in Covid-19 cases in some parts of the world, including China. The government also decided to make face masks mandatory in closed spaces and airconditioned rooms. The two per cent random testing of international passengers arriving in the state will continue until revised directions from the Centre, state Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said.
