Plant proteins are more preferred these days as studies have found their connection with heart disease prevention.

A 2018 meta analysis published in the journal Progress in Cardiovascular Diseases had found that plant based foods lowered cholesterol, improved blood pressure and reduced the risk of heart diseases.

The common plant based foods recommended for those with high cholesterol are soy and soy products, beans, peas, chickpeas, or lentils, oats, barley, psyllium, eggplant, okra, apples, oranges, or berries for fibres.

For those who are worried about the protein, they can compensate for it with plant products.
