BJP to target Kamal Nath turf Chhindwara

[ad_1]

Union home minister Amit Shah will be visiting Chhindwara on March 25 to address a public rally on Congress leader Kamal Nath‘s stronghold .

For 2024, the BJP has set an ambitious target of winning Chhindwara which it could win only once in a bypoll since 1952. Chhindwara has remained an impregnable fortress for the BJP or any other party barring Congress.

Chhindwara has been represented nine times by Kamal Nath and once each by his wife Alka Nath and son Nakul Nath. Nakul Nath is the current MP of Chhindwara.

In 2019, BJP won all seats in MP but Chhindwara. Even in 1977, when Congress was almost washed away in North India, it won Chhindwara.

The BJP has put Chhindwara in the list of 160 weak Lok Sabha seats where the party is strengthening its presence to win almost half of these seats.

The importance of Chhindwara can be understood by the fact that before Shah’s address on March 25, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Chhindwara to oversee the preparation. MP BJP president VD Sharma, state minister Kamal Patel and Rajya Sabha MP Kavita Patidar have stationed themselves in Chhindwara till March 25.
