But going by the latest buzz, the Cupertino-based tech giant is finally adding a 15-inch Air to its MacBook laptops. This will be a huge move by Apple as the consumer-focused MacBook Air introduced by the tech giant allows consumers to own a Mac with similar levels of performance as the Intel-powered Pro devices.
When it comes to price point, Apple’s MacBook Air laptops are a huge hit with consumers. The only drawback for the Air was its screen size limited to 13-inches.
So Apple has had a pressure to launch a larger 15-inch MacBook Air for a while now, and as per latest reports, Apple is likely to unveil the larger laptop at the company’s annual developer’s conference, the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) scheduled to be held between June 5-9.
To meet the deadline, Apple is speeding up the testing process for the much-anticipated 15-inch MacBook Air, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported, adding that the upcoming laptops will come packed with chips that will be as powerful as the M2 chip in MacBook Pro models.
The report says that the developer logs show that there is a MacBook with a higher and larger resolution display with a chip that we have already seen in current Apple laptops. This yet-to-be named MacBook has been given the codename of ‘Mac15,3’, the report further added. Gurman further points out the upcoming MacBook will come with M2 chip as the laptop’s speculated features include 8 crores and a 10-crore graphic processor, similar to specifications of the M2 chip.
The report suggests that the 15-inch MacBook Air would come with the same screen resolution as the 14-inch MacBook Pro. It is also important to note that speculations also suggest that Apple will be teasing its first mixed-reality headsets at the WWDC 2023 event.
So it’ll be interesting to see what all Apple has in store for us.
