Rajasthan’s first cruise service likely start from March

If all goes as planned, Rajasthan’s first cruise will likely start ferrying tourists on Ajmer’s Ana Sagar lake from March. This will further add another attraction to the district, which is already famous for the shrine of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and Brahma temple.
Once the cruise starts operation, people will also be able to host small functions and parties on it, apart from enjoying a ride on the double-decker cruise.

If reports are to go by, the cruise will have a carrying capacity of 150 passengers. An official in the know-how added that the cruise service will likely start in the first week of March, for which the work tender was given last year, and which is expected to get ready by February. Reportedly, the service will generate an income of INR 66.5 lakh every year for the corporation from it.

The Corporation’s Assistant engineer Ravindra Saini added that the path of the cruise will be different from that taken by boats ferrying on the lake. Ticket rates have not been decided yet, which will be done by the contractor after approval by the Corporation.

Reports have it that the cruise will have a restaurant facility, and people will be able to book it for small parties and functions. Referring to this, another official added that the work order was given to the firm in February last year and a 15-month time was given to make the cruise.

The surrounding area of the lake has also been developed with works like pathways, eateries, and more, which is already witnessing a huge tourist footfall.
