Air India will commence 12 new weekly flights to London Gatwick and increase services to London Heathrow on 26 March, the carrier announced on Thursday (12 January).

The new services to Gatwick from Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Goa and Kochi will each operate three times per week.

Meanwhile, direct flights to Heathrow from Delhi will increase from 14 to 17 times a week, while services between Mumbai and Heathrow will increase from 12 to 14 times a week.

The routes will be serviced by 787-8 aircraft, with 256 seats across business and economy classes. Tickets are now on sale.

According to the carrier, the new routes “strengthen established, strong community links” between the UK and India.

Stewart Wingate, chief executive officer, Gatwick Airport said: “The arrival of Air India and its four routes to London Gatwick is fantastic news for the airport and passengers across London and the south east.”
