Twitter Latest News Live Updates: Microblogging site Twitter left netizens from India in a stir as it temporarily stopped loading pages for many users.

According to the outage monitoring website, Downdetector, the number of Twitter outages reached up to 2,814 at 7:23 PM today, in India.

As many as 65 per cent of users had problems with the mobile app while 33 per cent had issues with the desktop website, with the remaining 2 per cent complaining about uploading, as per Downdetector.

After connectivity was restored, many users swarmed the microblogging platform to share their thoughts on the outage.

Some found humour in the situation and shared memes.

On the other hand, several other users noted that the network went down only on Jio networks, while other networks had the platform working just fine.

Volcano erupts in Guatemala, forcing airport closure

  • One of the most active volcanoes in Central America has erupted again, spewing lava and ash and forcing authorities in Guatemala City to close the country’s largest airport and a major highway. The volcano named Fuego — Spanish for fire — rumbled into activity overnight Saturday into Sunday, with molten rock oozing down its slopes and ash belching two kilometers (more than a mile) into the sky. Winds carried the ash toward Guatemala City, 35 kilometers (22 miles) away.

  • La Aurora international airport, six kilometers south of the capital, was temporarily closed at mid-morning, the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics said in a statement, citing the presence of ash near the runway.

Many passengers continued to experience long waiting hours at the Delhi airport. Some passengers took to social media and also shared pictures of crowd at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA). In response to a tweet by a passenger, Delhi airport said that it has deployed officials on the ground to assist the passengers and minimise any inconvenience. While complaining about the long queues, the passenger said there is need for new terminals.

Gujarat: 151 of 182 MLAs elected in 2022 polls ‘crorepatis’

A total of 151, or 83 per cent, of the 182 MLAs elected in the recent Assembly polls in Gujarat are ‘crorepatis’ (worth over Rs 1 crore), up from 141 in the 2017 polls, as per a study conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Gujarat Election Watch. The study showed the ruling BJP has 132 crorepati MLAs, followed by 14 of the Congress, all three Independents, and one each of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Samajwadi Party.
