Chinese smartphone giant OPPO recently launched a new product in its popular A-series, the “A7″ at a price tag of Rs 16,990 in India. Boasting of the success of its widely popular”F” series smartphone -“F9 Pro”, OPPO is releasing the best phones in the Indian market at affordable prices.
The dual-SIM handset sports a water-drop notched display, a durable 4230mAh battery, and highly approved face-recognition feature in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. The memory card extends the 64GB internal storage of the phone up to 256GB.
The phone is available in colours like glaring gold and glaze blue. While the former variant is way too flashy, the glaze blue variant represents swank and sophistication.
Features
- The texture of the phone produces a glaze, but the back panel generates a smoother look.
- The fingerprint sensor is pretty snappy and lies below the 13MP+2MP dual rear camera set-up on the backside along with an LED flash.
- The rear-camera app works on multiple modes like time-lapse, portrait, stickers and panorama.
- This phone is boosted with a dedicated space for the memory card along with a slot for the slim.
- The volume buttons are fixed on the left of the phone, and the right edge possesses the lock button.
Camera and Display
The smartphone flaunts a 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 1080×2340. The screen is a sheer display of a multitude of vibrant colours, and the size adds to the comfort for watching videos and playing games with decent sunlight readability.
The top centre of the phone is facilitated with a 16MP selfie camera, semi-circled by the notch. The front shooting part is positioned rightly for clicking selfies. The selfies are displayed at right angles rather than being displayed tilted on screen.
Processor and Charging
The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor that assist multi-tasking and smooth running of multiple apps by amplifying the overall phone performance and making it surpass the performance standards. The phone has the capacity to run social media apps numerous times a day along with the facility of high-tension gaming and high-resolution video browsing. The battery lasts for more than a day even after an increased usage of apps and games. The phone is supported by an ordinary charger which takes a little more time than the technology-enabledVOOC charger to complete the charging process.
Key Drawbacks
The phone is found to heat up a lot at the time of charging. The face-recognition feature performs slower than the expected standards, especially in low-light conditions. Even though OPPO is renowned for producing spectacular snaps both from the front camera and rear camera, but it is worthy for mention that in this case, only the selfie camera delivers an impressive performance but the rear cameras failed to prove its mettle. Also, the camera app lacks a lot of advanced features which are present in any other phone within the same price range. The phone does not support the company’s patented flash-charging VOOC technology, which is slightly disappointing.
Final Verdict
OPPO A7 is a perfect choice for selfie addicts and those users who long for a more powerful battery although the absence of VOOC charging might hamper the overall performance of the phone.
