“BJP in AP is finding it difficult to campaign. Wherever they go, people are asking about the status of Special Category Status, privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant, South Coast A day after Union home minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government in Visakhapatnam, the party responded by saying that the BJP’s polarisation strategy does not work in the state. The party also made it clear that it will contest the elections independently.
“BJP is finding it difficult to campaign in AP. Wherever they go, people are asking about the status of Special Category Status, privatisation of the Vizag Steel Plant, South Coast Railway Zone and AP Reorganisation Act promises. Sadly for the BJP, polarisation does not work in AP,” YSRC national general secretary Vijayasai Reddy said on Twitter.
Terming the possible alliance between the BJP and TDP as a hypothetical one, Vijayasai Reddy said: “In our case, we are very clear. We are going to contest the election independently and maintain equal distance from both the opposition and the central government.” The YSRC has been supportive of the BJP’s stand in Parliament in the last five years. But Reddy said his party was opposed to NRC-CAA.
