West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee kicks off “Sarasori Mukhyamantri ( “Directly Connect Chief Minister), a people’s connect programme of the West Bengal government, to help people with public services and resolve public grievances. The CMO grievance cell earlier handled the grievances.

“There was a CMO grievance cell which earlier handled the complaints. A big step has been taken. Public grievances related complaints will reach the Chief Minister and then the issues will be resolved,” Chief Secretary H K Dwivedi said.

The new system will work to resolve citizens’ grievances within seven working days under normal circumstances, state administration sources said. “The platform will include a Call Centre and field validation units. Around 500 tele-callers will be used for receiving calls and there will be 100 Validation personnel for field validation and analysis of information, which will be done under the supervision of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).”

“Complaint disposal will be done quickly. Secretaries of all departments will also work and monitor if the issues get resolved. Emergency patient, law & order issues must be done quickly. Marginal people must get access to the number. The state administration will look into it,” Banerjee said, announcing the toll free number.

“Complaint disposal will be done quickly. In special emergency situations, like hospitalization related issues, decisions should be taken immediately, the Chief Minister said.
