The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has appointed former para fencer Vibhas Sen as a member of Para Fencing under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) in Identification and Development Centre (TIDC).

“I am happy to be nominated for Para Fencing by TIDC. My mission statement would be to inspire and empower para-athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the pitch,” Sen said after being nominated as a member.

Sen has been appointed for discovering prospective para fencers across the country. He is mandated to search out athletes with great potential and offer them the necessary assistance and guidance to excel in their chosen sport via a comprehensive talent discovery procedure. He will also contribute to the formulation of specific training programmes and development of para fencers.

Sen’s extraordinary accomplishments extend beyond athletics. He has a wide academic background including bachelor’s degree in information technology from Mumbai University and management course from IIM Kolkata. He has nearly 15 years of marketing experience and has held several roles in various organisations.
