On May 11, the Twitter boss said that he has hired a new CEO for the company. While the billionaire didn’t disclose any name, he did reveal that she would take up the role of Twitter’s new CEO in six weeks.
The new person is also replacing him as boss of Twitter’s newly named X Corporation parent.
So what’s next for Musk? The Tesla boss said that he would transition to being executive chair and CTO of Twitter. The 51 year old will oversee product, software and sysops.
“Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks!
My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops,” Musk tweeted.

While Musk made a serious announcement regarding the future of Twitter, the Internet took this opportunity to roast (in a friendly manner) Musk, the self-proclaimed ‘Chief Meme Officer’ of the microblogging platform.
Netizens on Twitter welcomed the new CEO of the company with memes that showed Musk in a wig. Some even took a wild guess and said it’s “Elona!”

In December just weeks after he took charge of the social media giant, Twitter users voted to oust owner Musk as chief executive in an unscientific poll that he organised and promised to stand by,
Since taking over, Musk has cut down the platform’s workforce to half, implemented several new policies and rules to the blogging platform while also rolling out paid subscription plans for blue tick verification on Twitter.
