Uddav Tacheray’s son Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday said that he is ready contest against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Thane.

“Ready to contest against Eknath Shinde in Thane,” said Aaditya Thackeray.

Aaditya Thackeray’s announcement of contesting against Eknath Shinde in Thane came after he and other Shiv Sena party members protested against the state government and police for not taking action against those who had assaulted their party workers and women’s wing chief R Shinde.

The protest was triggered by an incident where a Shiv Sena (UBT) woman activist, Roshani Shinde-Pawar, was allegedly assaulted by supporters of Eknath Shinde over a social media post.

The incident sparked a political controversy, with the MVA (Maha Vikas Aghadi) launching a fierce attack on the SS-BJP (Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party) government’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, and demanding his resignation. They also suspended/transferred the Thane Police Commissioner, Jai Jeet Singh.

Both sides engaged in a political free-for-all, with accusations, threats, and ultimatums being hurled back and forth. Despite this, Uddhav Thackeray, Rashmi Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Ambadas Danve, and other party workers visited Roshani Shinde-Pawar at the hospital where she is receiving treatment for the injuries sustained in the assault.

The incident has once again highlighted the tense political atmosphere in Maharashtra ahead of the local body elections, with all major parties trying to strengthen their positions. The attack on Roshani Shinde-Pawar has become a matter of concern for the Shiv Sena party, which is demanding action against those responsible for the assault.Aaditya Thackeray who is the son of former Maharashtra CM has been actively involved in the politics of the state for the past few years.
