The iOS 16.4 brings new features such as web push notifications, voice isolation for cellular calls, emojis, badge count and more.
To upgrade to the latest update iOS 16.4 by Apple, iPhone users need to go to their Settings and go to General and click on Software Update to upgrade your smartphone.
“This update introduces 21 new emoji and includes other enhancements, bug fixes and security updates for the iPhone,” Apple said.
What’s New?
The 21 new emojis include a shaking face, the long-awaited pink heart, two pushing hands, a Wi-Fi symbol and more.
Other features include the new voice isolation for cellular calls update which will prioritise the users’ voice and will cut ambient noise around them during calls. Apple rolled out the feature previously for FaceTime calls and other Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications. After a long wait, the tech giant has finally rolled out the feature for normal cellular calls as well.
To make the most of this feature, you’ll need to open the Control Center while still on the call and then click on Mic Mode and hit Voice Isolation from the list.
Also, with the iOS 16.4 update, Apple is letting iOS developers send a notification to users (after gaining permission) when the user has pinned a web application to their Home Screen.
Other features include:
- Now Duplicates album in iPhone’s Photos will be able to detect duplicate pictures and videos in your iCloud Shared Photo Library
- Accessibility setting will now automatically dim video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected
- Apple has improved Crash Detection and optimised it on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models
The iOS 16.4 update is currently available for iPhone 8 and later.
