The tech giant is reportedly working on a camera feature exclusively only for iPhone users that will allow them to copy texts that are flashing on a picture. WhatsApp will most likely roll out the update in phases starting from next month.
The new update v23.5.77 version will get the new update, according to a report in WABetaInfo. It shouldn’t be a problem as Apple already offers this feature on its latest models of iPhones. The Cupertino-based tech giant had rolled out this feature last year which allows iPhone users to copy any text from a picture or through the iPhone’s camera.
In order to use the same feature on WhatsApp, iOS users will need to take a few extra steps to make the most of the update.
When users open an image which contains text, they will see a new button that allows them to copy text from the image. For privacy reasons, this feature is not compatible with the view once images.
Last month, it was reported that the messaging platform was rolling out a sticker maker tool on iOS, which allows users to convert images into stickers. Earlier this week, WhatsApp was widely rolling out the ‘voice status updates’ feature on iOS, with which users can record a voice note and share it through Status. The maximum recording time for a voice note is 30 seconds, and users can also forward voice notes from their chats to status. To record a voice status, navigate to the Status tab, tap the pencil icon and hold the microphone icon.Meanwhile, the social network is also testing another feature which will allow users to edit an already-sent message.
