Banerjee said the country should move forward to bring a “people’s government to end anarchy”. “BJP is resorting to misusing the power of the agencies and it is banking on them,” she said.
“The party is resorting to all kinds of divisive politics – NRC (National Register of Citizens) and CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) – and taking away the independence of the people… They (BJP) are using words filled with revenge and misusing wrong language in politics. They are carrying out wrong campaigns every day. They behave like feudal landlords.”
Nothing can come in the way of her objective of ousting the BJP, said Banerjee. “Unless you kill me – that too you are capable of doing – nothing can stop me,” she said.
The chief minister also lashed out at the Centre for the land row targeting Nobel laureate Amartya Sen. She slammed the Visva Bharati University authority, which is under the Centre, for its continuous salvos against Sen. “The BJP has insulted the Nobel laureate Amartya Sen,” she said.
Countering the BJP’s allegations about law and order issues, Banerjee said, “Law and order situation in Bengal is best in the count.
