In December last year, WhatsApp had introduced Avatars on its platform which has a resemblance to Apple’s Memoji.
For those who don’t know, Avatars are customisable characters that can be used as profile pictures and even sent to friends on chat.
In its latest update, WhatsApp is giving users not only the ability to create personalised avatars but also use them as stickers and profile pictures.
The avatar feature will create a digital version of you by choosing a combination of hair styles, facial features and outfits that are more suitable for you. There are around 36 custom stickers on the platform to choose from which reflect different emotions.
In order to enjoy the feature, users will need to update their application with the latest version of WhatsApp available on the app store. Once the application is updated, you will need to open WhatsApp Settings to discover if the latest feature is available or not, and if it’s already enabled on the account. Moreover, in the latest update, the messaging platform has also introduced the ability to record videos hands-free by swiping left inside the WhatsApp camera.Apart from this, the WhatsApp users will also get the ability to undo ‘delete for me’ for a few seconds in the latest update.Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature which will allow users to pin messages within chats and groups.
The feature is useful as it will allow users to pin important messages to the top of the chat. If a message is pinned and the recipient is using an old version of the application, then the app will show a message in the conversation to ask to upgrade to the latest version available on the store.
