Within a week of 2019, several renowned smartphone giants have reportedly reduced the prices of their popular handsets. The mid-budget price domain is intensively crowded with smartphones that are value for money products and owing to an increase in launches from the manufacturers, a howling competition among them is on the cards. In the beginning week of 2019, ASUS, Xiaomi and Samsung have initiated a slash in prices of their popular handsets which sends a positive signal to the smartphone enthusiasts.
Here is an exclusive look at the list of smartphones that had their prices slashed in the Indian market.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1
Asus, the Taiwanese giant, is renowned for producing flagship-killers on a constant basis. Its most popular device of 2018, The Zenfone Max Pro M1, is featured with a 5.99-inch FHD+ display. Under the hood, it is equipped with a Snapdragon 636 chipset. The 3GB and 4GB models are flaunted with 13MP + 5MP rear cameras and an 8MP selfie shooters.
On the other hand, the 6GB variant comes with 16MP + 5MP rear cameras and a 16MP front snapper as well. All the models of this smartphone are powered by 5000 mAH batteries. After launching its descendant Zenfone Max Pro M2 in December, ASUS had imposed a price cut on all the Zenfone Max Pro M1 variants. The price is now reduced by Rs.1000.
The 3GB/32GB model of this phone was launched at a price of Rs 10,999 while its old price is Rs 9,999. The 4GB/64GB is now priced at Rs 11,999 receiving a price slash from Rs 12,999 while the 6GB/64GB is available in the market at Rs 14,999.
Xiaomi Mi A2
Mi A2 is an Android One enabled device that was launched in August. The device operates on a Snapdragon 660 SoC. One principal disadvantage of this phone is that it does support microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone is equipped with a dual rear camera setup of 12MP + 20MP sensors while a 20MP selfie snapper is featured in the front. The new prices of Mi A2 got deducted by Rs 3,000. The phone is exclusively available for purchase from Mi.com, Amazon.in, and Mi Home stores.
The price of 4GB/64GB has now become Rs 13,999 from Rs 15,999 while the 6GB/128GB model has suffered a price cut from Rs 18,999 to Rs 15,999.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
The Redmi Note 5 Pro is a superstar launch from the Chinese giant, Xiaomi. The phone was launched in February 2018.
In the event of 5th-anniversary celebration, the Chinese giant has announced price reductions of both the 4GB and 6GB models of the Note 5 Pro. This handset will be exclusively available across Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores.
The old price of 4GB/64GB model was Rs 13,999, but its latest price is Rs 12,999. Similarly, the 6GB/128GB has experienced a price reduction from Rs 15,999 to Rs. 13,999. The phone comes loaded with a Snapdragon 636 processor and runs on the latest Android 9.0 Pie OS with the MIUI 9 layer on top.
Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+
In a bid to stay in competition in the mid-budgeting price segment, Samsung has decided to slash down the prices of its two flagships-the Galaxy J4+ and J6+. The devices were initially launched at Rs 10,990 and Rs 15,990 respectively. Both these affordable smartphones are packed with Infinity displays and run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
The old price of Galaxy J4+ 2GB/32GB is Rs 9,990 while its new price is Rs 8,490. Similarly, the 4GB/64GB variant of Galaxy J6+ was priced at Rs 14,990, but its present price is Rs 12,990.
Vivo NEX
Being unveiled in the first half of 2018 at a whopping price tag of Rs 44,990, it is one of those smartphones that comes with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The phone flaunts a retractable camera and is packed with impressive specifications accompanied by Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, the manufacturer has cut down the price of this handset by Rs 5,000 making it compete against the likes of
OnePlus 6T and ASUS Zenfone 5Z.
The former price of the 8GB/128GB variant of this phone is Rs 44,990 while the new price of this model is Rs 39,990.
