A 10-year-old girl died by suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Lucknow after her mother scolded her for playing games online.

By India Today Web Desk: A 10-year-old girl died by suicide by hanging herself at her residence after her mother scolded her for playing games online. The incident happened in the Baldev Kheda area of Para in Lucknow.

The deceased was a Class 6 student who had lost her father a few years ago. After father’s death, her mother, Neetu, used to work in other people’s homes for a living.

Not much interested in studies, the minor used to spend most of her time playing online games. Upset with her behaviour, Neetu on Tuesday scolded her and left for work. When she returned, she found her daughter dead.

Following this, police were informed and the body was taken into custody. Tej Bahadur Singh, in-charge Para police station, said, “A 10-year-old girl died by suicide. Police are waiting for the postmortem report.”
